50 Jahre Berco

BERCO Deutschland - 50th Anniversary

BERCO Deutschland celebrates its 50th Anniversary. The Ennepetal based firm belongs to the Italian BERCO Headquarters. Both companies are part of the ThyssenKrupp group. BERCO supplies undercarriage components and complete track systems for chain driven construction and earth moving machines.

BERCO Deutschland originates from TEG (Traktor Ersatzteil Gesellschaft), founded in 1960. Initially, TEG was only active in the spare parts business but quickly expanded into the original equipment market. Orenstein & Koppel, for example, was one of its first customers. At the end of the 70s TEG became part of the Hoesch concern, who at that time took over an interest in the BERCO manufacturing plant in Italy. This move laid the foundations for further global expansion of manufacturing capacity.

The BERCO Deutschland GmbH team

BERCO, today, has a workforce of 3.500 worldwide. Sales in the best business year, 2008, totalled approximately 600 million Euros. A clear division of duties has been established.  Manufacturing takes place exclusively in the four plants in Italy. BERCO Deutschland, successor company to TEG since 1998, concentrates on the German speaking countries, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. The customer portfolio includes nearly all reputable construction machine manufacturers such as Atlas Copco, Liebherr, Terex, Volvo/ABG and the Wirtgen Group.

Besides sales to OEM and the aftermarket, BERCO Deutschland's added value also includes just-in-time logistics as well as other technical services such as 3D-CAD, FEM, rapid prototyping and in-house complete track system designs.
