BERCO drive sprockets

BERCO produces over 140.000 Drive Sprockets and segments annually, representing a total weight of over 10.000 tons. Both cast, as well as drop-forged sprockets produced on a 16.000 tons press, are induction hardened over the full tooth profile. They are subsequently machined on vertical lathes and drilled in special machining centres.

Induction hardening and excellent hardening distribution over the full tooth profile ensure longer wear resistance. BERCO drive sprockets guarantee maximum service life and durability, even under the toughest operating conditions. Precision machining of the flanges produces perfect replacement parts.

Quality pays

Cast or forging steel for optimised material structure

  • Induction hardening for maximum surface hardness (HRC > 50)
  • 45 HRC to a depth of 4 -10 mm
  • Low alloy Boron steel to in-house specs  (low alloy cast steel) for enhanced hardenability
  • Hardened to prevent cracks and chipping
  • Optimised design reduces load concentration
  • Uneven numbers of teeth increase wear resistance
  • Maximum accuracy machining of the bearing surface guarantees a snug fit
